Cranberry Bogs

The Washington coast is home to numerous cranberry bogs, with the climate being perfect for growing and cultivating these delicious berries. There are several bogs you can tour and visit, including those owned and operated by Ocean Spray®. If you’ve ever wondered how cranberries are grown and harvested, this is your chance to find out!

Our Wandering Dunes vacation home is a short drive from the cranberry bogs, making it easy to take a day trip to one or several of the local bogs. It can be a great family outing or something to do on your way to another destination!

Fishing Charters

Have you ever wanted to fish in the Pacific Ocean? The Westport and Seabrook areas have plenty of options when it comes to chartering a fishing boat for the day (or several days). There are a lot of different saltwater fish to be caught off the coast of Washington, and your charter boat captain will be able to take you to prime waters where you can fish all day. It will definitely be an experience you’ll never forget!

Mermaid Museum

The International Mermaid Museum in Aberdeen is a fantastic place to visit while on vacation. The museum combines ecology with mermaid mythology to offer unique insights about life “between the seashore and sea floor.” There are exhibits and displays that will intrigue all ages, and it can make for a perfect day trip while on vacation in Westport. It’s also located near the Westport Winery, which we’ll talk about later in this post, as well as the Ocean’s Daughter Distillery and Sea Glass Grill.

Tokeland Hotel

The Tokeland Hotel, built in 1885, is the oldest hotel in Washington State. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, and is a popular spot for weddings, family reunions, retreats, and other events. It’s also home to The Wandering Goose restaurant, which serves delicious food for breakfast, lunch, and supper seven days a week. It can be a perfect option for a midday meal or a family dinner while on vacation.

Westport Winery

The Westport Winery Garden Resort is only 15 minutes from Wandering Dunes, and it can make a great spot for a wine tasting, dinner, and more. Great Northwest Wine Magazine recently named Westport Winery as the 2022 Washington Winery of the Year, and the winery is the number seven top platinum winning winery in the Pacific Northwest, which includes Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia. It can be a wonderful way to spend a date night. If you’re planning on dining at the Sea Glas Grill, it’s highly recommended to make a reservation!

If you’re planning your next vacation, but you’re not sure where to go, take a look at Wandering Dunes from Perennial Vacations. This family beach vacation home can be the perfect getaway, with food, wine, and more within minutes of the front door. The home itself is welcoming and comfortable, and we know you’ll have an amazing time while you’re here.
